Furcellaria lumbricalis is a red-coloured algae that grows on rocks off the northern coast of Scandinavia. Red algae has hygroscopic properties, which means it easily attracts and retains water, making it an excellent ingredient to help invigorate, soften and revitalise the skin. 

Salicylic acid is a recognised ally in the fight against blemishes and an excellent ally for clear, healthy skin. It is a BHA (Beta Hydroxy Acid), exfoliating, smoothing and cleansing the skin of dead cells. Being oil-soluble means that salicylic acid can reach deep into the pore, cutting through sebum (oil) and clearing away pore-clogging debris that can cause blemishes to develop.
