Many properties have been attributed to burdock, and it is one of the most widely used roots in medicine, usually consumed as a tea, tincture or powdered supplement. An AHA (alpha hydroxy acid), lactic acid works by stimulating the skin to eliminate dead cells and transferring new cells to the surface. As a larger molecule than glycolic acid, lactic acid is generally well tolerated by most skin types.
