In addition, this plant contains derivatives similar to salicylic acid, which offer an illuminating and exfoliating action to the skin. 

Wild pansy is an edible flower that has been appreciated since ancient times for treating various respiratory, inflammatory and skin conditions. The pretty little flowers come in a wide range of yellows, purples and whites, and are packed with a variety of flavonoids, tannins and carotenoids, making it an excellent skincare ingredient. Today, the wild pansy is also used as a decorative ingredient, and is edible in some of the finest dishes in Scandinavian cuisine.
