Sea buckthorn is a hardy, thorny shrub that grows particularly well on the east coast of Sweden and has small but powerful orange berries with a soft spherical shape. The berries are prized for their exceptionally high vitamin C content and have been used in Swedish cuisine for centuries. Today, sea buckthorn is still used in jams, syrups and fruit powders. In beauty, sea buckthorn's high fatty acid content as well as its antioxidant content make it an incredibly moisturising ingredient.
