Catch the light – The makeup artist’s guide to glitter eyeshadow
Published: 17/08/2026 | Author: OriflameFor makeup artist Josefina Zarmén, who created many of the looks in this magazine, THE ONE Liquid Glitter Eye Shadow is a kit staple. Creamy and lightweight, the formula glides on and blends out easily, from a soft shimmer across the lid to a full sparkling eye. The multidimensional pearly glow shifts with the light. Here she shares how to work with it.

A luminous wash
For a sheer, luminous look, I apply it from the applicator, starting at the centre of the lid,
then blend out with my fingertip or a brush. Work it while the formula is still wet. For added
radiance, dab a little extra right at the centre of the eyelid to catch the light.

Layer by layer
When I want a more intense finish, I let the first layer dry completely before adding a second. Apply too soon, and you risk lifting the first coat. Once it has set, the second layer goes on smoothly, and the colour deepens. The more layers, the more impact.
The sparkling line
Liquid glitter makes an unexpected liner. I trace the applicator along the lash line and
let it set for a precise, sparkling line. If there’s any left on the applicator, I like to dust it softly
along the lower lash line for extra sparkle.
